How to Get More Airbnb Reviews
Reviews are the currency of the platform. You earn them by asking well, not by hoping.

Reviews compound
More reviews mean better search placement, more trust, and higher rates. New hosts feel the gap most acutely.
Earn them first
No tactic replaces a clean space, accurate photos, and a fast reply. If those are in place, the ask becomes easy.
The review ask
- Time it. Send the request within 24 hours of checkout, while the stay is fresh.
- Make it specific. "If the stay met your expectations, a short review really helps us."
- Remove friction. The platform makes it one tap; just remind them it's there.
- Review them first. Many guests return the gesture.
What not to do
- Never offer a discount in exchange for a review. It violates platform policy and cheapens you.
- Don't pester. One warm ask is enough.
- Don't argue with a fair negative review publicly — respond once, calmly, and move on.
On negative reviews
A single measured response to a difficult review tells future guests more about you than ten perfect ones. Stay factual, kind, and brief.
