There are some cities that do not like short term rentals (AirBnB) and they do not allow it. Anytime you are looking to become a landlord in a city, you need to talk to the local ordinance office to see what they require in terms of city code and inspections. You just have to look up the ordinance office for your city, tell them you would like to become a landlord in your area and you were thinking about either renting the whole house out or doing an AirBnB. Ask them their rules, policies, do they require an inspection or licensing. Do this first before you even start your AirBnB or rental property and it will save you a lot of headache later down the road.
